Funding Your Procedure
We believe that accessing expert treatment should be as straightforward and transparent as possible. Whether you are paying for your own care, using private medical insurance, or funding treatment through a third party, our team will guide you through the process from your first enquiry.
Before any treatment takes place, you will receive a clear written quotation explaining the expected costs and what is included.
Self-Pay
Many of our patients choose to pay for their treatment themselves.
Self-funding offers several advantages:
- Rapid access to specialist assessment and treatment
- Choice of your consultant and hospital
- No requirement for insurance authorisation
- Transparent pricing with no hidden surprises
- Treatment scheduled at a time that suits you
Following your consultation, we will provide a personalised treatment plan together with a written quotation.
Where possible, this will include all anticipated costs, including:
- Consultant fees
- Hospital fees
- Anaesthetic fees
- Implants or specialist equipment (where applicable)
- Routine follow-up appointments related to your procedure
If additional investigations or unforeseen treatment become necessary, we will discuss these with you before proceeding wherever possible.
Private Medical Insurance
Our consultants are recognised by most major UK private medical insurers.
If you have private medical insurance, our administration team can help you understand what information your insurer requires before treatment.
You should contact your insurer before your appointment to obtain:
- Confirmation that your condition is covered
- Authorisation for consultation and any investigations
- Confirmation that your chosen consultant and hospital are recognised under your policy
- Details of any policy excess or shortfall that you may be responsible for
Please note that insurance policies vary considerably, and some treatments, particularly reconstructive procedures, revision surgery or treatment related to pre-existing conditions—may not be fully covered.
Any costs not covered by your insurer remain the responsibility of the patient.
Medicolegal Cases
The Leeds Limb Centre has extensive experience caring for patients involved in personal injury and clinical negligence claims.
Where treatment has been approved by:
- Solicitors
- Insurers
- Case managers
- Compensation claims
- Other funding organisations
we are happy to work directly with the relevant organisation wherever appropriate.
Please contact us before your appointment so that the necessary funding arrangements can be confirmed.
NHS Referrals
Some patients choose to have their consultation privately before continuing treatment within the NHS, while others transfer from NHS care to private treatment to reduce waiting times or access highly specialised procedures.
We are happy to discuss the most appropriate pathway for your individual circumstances.
